Here's an interesting article I read this morning about how the Oxford dictionary is updating outdated and sexist definitions of the word, 'woman.' I'm fascinated by words and connotations and how they shape our thinking.

This is certainly good news!! And about time. Here is something interesting we found on the etymology of the word woman in different (mostly European) languages.
It is intriguing to notice that in many languages, the word 'woman' is interchangeable with 'wife'!! Very much a man's world isn't it??
There you go. Things cannot be wrong for ever.sometime or the other it has to be corrected . And of all things the OUP woke up so late is unbelievable. Anyway they have realised and acted . Good yevtte you brought it to our notice.
More power to that! Better late than never is the consolation, but I am appalled at some of the sexist references that existed in Oxford University Publications and associated publications until 2020.
Hurrah!!! How did I not know about this...glad I logged in. will read this article now. Thanks @Yvette Francino
